Day Trip to Hueston Woods
Hueston Woods is about an hour and a half from home – a fun place to swim, build sand castles and ride horses (we rode for 4 miles and Cathy couldn’t sit for 2 days!).
Chicago Visit 6-09
We all went to Chicago in June to visit with our family. Lots of food, fun and dancing!
Icthus 2009 (Christian Music Festival)
We went to the 40th anniversary of Icthus in Wilmore, KY. There were 112 bands and 20,000 people!
Elias’ 13th Birthday – Movie Premiere Night
We staged a movie premiere night in celebration of Elias’ 13th birthday!! Everyone showed up dressed for the red carpet … from classic movie stars (not sure if it was Clark Gable or Errol Flynn) to the paparazzi. Even a REEL cake!
Easter 2009 (Greek-style)
We celebrated Easter…Greek style! A lamb was roasted on a spit, there were red eggs to crack (traditional game) and tons of food to eat! All of our family and many friends gathered at Christopher and Chelle’s farm to celebrate!
Big Break 2009
This year our family spent Spring Break at Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center in the middle of Daniel Boone National Forest near Ravenna, Kentucky. We went with our church and worked to help prepare the camp facilities for their summer camp season. This involved everything from clearing fallen trees from the hiking trails to mucking out the horse-barn and grooming the horses. It was such a blessing to serve and fellowship with a group of about 60 adults and kids – we had a fun night of folk-dancing and even shared Communion around the campfire the night of Holy Thursday.Panorama theme by Themocracy
